Developed in the 1960’s, the premise of CBT is that there is a direct and cyclical relationship between our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. The idea is that if we can change the thought, we can transform the associated feeling. If we can transform emotion, we can eliminate unwanted behavior. The overwhelming amount of data-driven research has determined that CBT works! It can alleviate symptoms of depression and anxiety in the short-term, while also re-programming the brain to be less susceptible to depression and anxiety in the long run!
The truth is that CBT can be incredibly boring and challenging. It can feel redundant and mundane or overwhelming, especially for those who may not have intense motivation to embark on their CBT journey.
The goal of this course is to help you or your child get through the first few stages of CBT in a tolerable way so we can more quickly get to a place of reaping and enjoying the benefits!
